At Planet Dentistry, our goal is to provide patients with the best in dental care. By using high-quality materials and the most up-to-date techniques, we know how to keep your smile healthy and bright!
What makes Planet Dentistry so different? Besides short wait periods and extended business hours (upon request), our office is proud to offer you:
Interactive Technology
A pen-sized video camera makes it possible for you to see exactly what we see when we’re working in your mouth. Magnified approximately 20 times, the colour images of your teeth are instantly displayed on a monitor, so you can be involved in the entire dental procedure, without having to guess what we’re doing. It's interesting, and it’s also a great way to see detailed “after” shots of new fillings, implants or other cosmetic procedures.
Sterilized Facilities
Our patients' comfort and safety is always a top priority, and understanding a patient's concerns about infection control, sterilization procedures and environmentally friendly disposal methods are of the utmost importance to us.
All of our instruments are used once and then steam sterilized in an autoclave. This provides the highest level of sterilization.
The surfaces in our operatories are treated chemically to eliminate potentially infectious bacteria, viruses and spores. The paper products we use are appropriately disposed of after their initial use and replaced with new products for each and every procedure.
All of our operatories have been equipped with reservoirs of disinfectant to flush and decontaminate our waterlines. Our waterlines are cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis to ensure that bacterial buildup in our lines is eradicated and your health protected.
A Way to Save the Planet (Dentistry)
We are proud to announce that we are a mercury-free dental office. We regularly replace mercury fillings with environmentally-friendly porcelain or composite resins that have the same physical properties of enamel. In the past, the removed mercury fillings were left untreated and went directly into our sewage system.
As concerned citizens, we’ve installed a machine that filters 99.5 percent of the total mercury within the dental office wastewater. Once the mercury has been filtered out, it is safely packaged and removed for recycling. We are pleased to offer a proactive solution on this issue, and to help protect the local environment in the community we serve.
